On helping people, stress and healing
Rule 1: Do not
help people who do not seek help.
·
You can’t help them anyway – not really.
·
To do so will impinge on their free will and so will
incur karma for you.
There are 2 reasons that people ask for help:
·
“Take my pain away now!” Rule 1
applies to these people.
·
“I’m really trying to help myself but I’m stuck.” These are the only people you can help, but
only as quickly as they can absorb the new information.
Most people, most of the time, are stuck in reason #1. There’s no growth there. The purpose of pain is to get our attention to
the fact that there is a conscious-subconscious disconnect. This is true for both physical pain AND
emotional pain! Most people don’t really
want to address the underlying cause and grow; they just want a band aid. “Take my pain away so I can go on with my
life” is their cry. Our society is based
upon band-aids. The entire allopathic
medical system is based on “treat the symptoms”. That’s why it’s an abject failure.
Growth results from addressing root issues. Perhaps we would do well to ask: “what is
this pain indicating? Where is there disconnect
in my life?” Remember, disconnect =
stress. Have you heard that even doctors
are now admitting that most diseases are stress-caused? Soon, they’ll have to admit that all disease
is stress-caused.
So, what is stress again?
It’s a disconnect between what our conscious mind wants and what our
subconscious mind actually believes. Our
entire life experience is driven by our accumulated subconscious beliefs, most
of which are set in place by age 7. That’s why we see a distinct lack of
maturity in the world – so many people are continually reacting via patterns
created in childhood.
Let’s view a quick and very common example. Bob is a spiritual guy and (consciously)
wants to be rich. Nothing is
working. He’s continually poor no matter
what he does or how hard he works. Every
time he saves up a few thousand dollars, something happens and the money goes. Bob subconsciously believes a few things. 1) Rich
people are evil/cheats/un-spiritual. 2) Money is the root of all evil. 3) Wealth
corrupts. So obviously, if Bob is a
spiritual guy but subconsciously believes that money corrupts and is evil,
there is a massive disconnect. The subconscious
wins almost every time.
Stress causes all disease. Look at the word DIS-EASE. Interesting isn’t it? So what’s the solution? EASE.
How do we obtain ease? Correct
the disconnects! The most common one is unforgiveness
or resentment. The disconnect here could be: Subconscious: “I really hate this person for what they did
to me” vs. Conscious: “I’m supposed to
love everyone or I’ll go to hell (guilt).”
Most of this is low-level, background stress. It has been demonstrated by the author of
Radical Forgiveness that cancer can be healed very quickly via true forgiveness. A similar mechanism holds true for all
disease.
All “negative” emotions are indicators that there is a disconnect
needing healing. So, pay close attention
to how you feel and clear up disconnects as you go along. In order to help someone, you’ll need to
assist them in uncovering their stressors.
There are numerous tools and methods for doing so. I can walk you through this via coaching
