On Debt & Bankruptcy…

A friend wrote to me about her personal bankruptcy.   I thought my response might help others.          I understand your unwillingness to accept this failure and have felt the same way.  So, what would happen if we had to admit to ourselves and the world that we failed financially?   "I failed financially!"        There, I said it.  So what?  I'm still the wonderful, good, caring, compassionate, productive, beautiful, generous person I was before!  Aren't you?  Maybe you could declare the same, out loud and see if it makes a difference?        I invite you to really FEEL the pain, heartache, failure, disappointment, guilt, shame, blame and “shoulds”.        FEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEL it.        Accept that you're choosing to hold onto this feeling (it's not a part of you - it’s like a jacket) for now, and that's OK.  K...

On Depression, Elation & Lethargy…

Image
Do you ride emotional roller-coasters?  Are you longing for peace, tranquility, and a constant level of happiness?  Do you berate yourself for your inability to climb out of depression at will?  Do you flog yourself for not being a shining example of spiritual guru-ism?  No?  Perhaps it’s just me.  Then never mind. I've thought long and hard on this topic and realized a few things. 1)  The moon has a huge effect on our emotional body (ask any teacher, fireman, police officer or nurse).  Silvia is the  www.mooncoach.com .  I've picked up a few things along the way.  The various phases of the moon exert powerful energies on all of us.  So, relax!  It'll change in a day or 2.  2)  The more sensitive and empathic we are, the more susceptible we are to external energies.  Every single person (over 3.5 BILLION) is a transmitter of thoughts & emotions.  You know the various studies such as the one where 7...

A Call to Non-Action...

Image
More and more good people are coming to me in confusion about their life.  As we watch the old-paradigm institutions crumble we need a new way of doing things.  So what's the message here?      I feel that we are all getting the strong message to be still.  The old ways are rapidly breaking down.  The new way is to plug-in, tune-in, trust, listen for guidance.  I feel that DAILY meditation is absolutely essential.  Daily practices for getting truly quiet are totally necessary.  Distraction, entertainment, chronic action and drugs are counter-productive.       The rampant use of anti-depressant and other mood-altering pharmaceuticals, as well as the significant rise in marijuana use (especially by those 50+) are troubling.  These chemicals insulate us from our emotions.  Blocked emotions (energy) is the primary root cause of all dis-ease.  Could this be one reason for the ever-incre...

An Abundant Universe... (or I'm hallucinating)

Image
Since the Universe comprises everything, And the Universe is absolutely, massively, incomprehensibly abundant, And I am (and you are) integral parts of the Universe, We can/must only experience and express absolute abundance in everything,  - wealth, prosperity, health, love, joy, happiness and satisfaction! There is no other conclusion given the premises. Yet, we seem to live in lack. Why? It isn't true - so it MUST be an illusion! Therefore, lack is a hallucination! How cool is that?

Meditation? Me?

"Who me?  I'm ADD!  I can't meditate!" All spiritual practices I've researched include and encourage daily meditation. What?  Why?  How?  How it is possible in our ADD, technological and accelerating world? What is meditation? Simply put, I feel that mediation is the stilling of the ego-mind.  It's often called the space between thoughts.  Our ego-mind is described as the 'monkey-mind' because it chatters incessantly, drowns out intuition and throws shit at passers-by.  Our ego-mind is that non-stop self-talk.  It's firmly rooted in 3-D unreality.  Is it good for anything?  Not much of value.  The monkey-mind is a poor decision-making tool.  Therefore it doesn't materially contribute to our success, happiness, health or well-being.  It replays our "stories" continually.  It perpetuates our mis-beliefs, dis-beliefs, false-beliefs, judgments, perceptions and prejudices. Why is meditation ...

Solving Big Problems...

This piggy-backs on the previous blog and much more. How can we solve the big problems? "You can never solve a problem on the level on which it was created.  " Albert Einstein  What does this tell us? How can we use this information to make better decisions? Well, the most direct use of this knowledge is to realize that we, as pretend 3rd-dimensional beings, are not privy to all the information!  We're largely limited to sensory input.  Are our senses a reliable source of information and knowledge?  NO!  We're all familiar with optical illusions as well as illusions of the other 4 senses.  So why would we believe what we can see, hear, taste, touch or smell? A far more efficient level of problem solving is the metaphysical level.  The level above physics.  This stretching into 4-D and perhaps a bit beyond.  This is the level of miracles, magic and all those effects we cannot explain with Newtonian physics....

The Great Healthcare Debate - 9/3/09

Image
Americans are up in arms over the proposed healthcare legislation. Why? Why are there so many passionate reactions to it? Does anybody really know what they're arguing about? Are we asking the right questions? NO! 1)  Most people only have a vague idea of the actual issues - often derived from friends, family, or heaven forbid - FOX newstertainment.  (How do I know?  I'm a university professor of working adults so I get to see and understand and listen to a cross-section of working America.) So, how can we debate and even have strong opinions on something that we're unclear on? We can't!  Yet we do! 2)  What is health care insurance?  Isn't it where the insurer will pay for you to go to a hospital, see a doctor and get drugs affordably? Why would I want that?  According to the Federal Government, doctors by themselves are the 3rd leading cause of preventable death in America!  That doesn't even include the massive amounts of nee...
