The Great Healthcare Debate - 9/3/09

Americans are up in arms over the proposed healthcare legislation.
Why?
Why are there so many passionate reactions to it?
Does anybody really know what they're arguing about?
Are we asking the right questions?
NO!

1)  Most people only have a vague idea of the actual issues - often derived from friends, family, or heaven forbid - FOX newstertainment.  (How do I know?  I'm a university professor of working adults so I get to see and understand and listen to a cross-section of working America.)

So, how can we debate and even have strong opinions on something that we're unclear on?
We can't!  Yet we do!

2)  What is health care insurance?  Isn't it where the insurer will pay for you to go to a hospital, see a doctor and get drugs affordably?

Why would I want that?  According to the Federal Government, doctors by themselves are the 3rd leading cause of preventable death in America!  That doesn't even include the massive amounts of needless suffering.  Doctors, hospitals and drugs together are THE leading cause of preventable death in America by a HUGE margin!   A hospital is one of the (if not the) most dangerous places on the planet.  Why would I want to go there?

Drugs do FAR more harm than good. They're mostly synthetic, thus have a reverse electron spin and are toxic to the body.  There are safe, cheap and effective alternative cures for everything!
(Note:  all diseases, ailments and issues have a very powerful emotional/mental component that must be addressed for true healing).  See www.quantumanatomy.com for more.

Yes, I readily admit that doctors and hospitals are ok at handling trauma and getting people stabilized.  Yet the medical peer-reviewed journals show that doctors have only a 30% success rate at diagnosis and a 3% success rate overall!  It doesn't take a stats professor (like me) to see that the odds are not in your favor here.

So how about asking some better questions before rampaging on one side or the other on this health cared debate?

Let's also remember that these types of emotionally-charged issues are largely the construct of the media corporations who work diligently and expertly to pit us against one-another.  Divide and conquer!  Please don't fall for that!

Is it better to be right or happy?
Clue:  rightness is merely an illusion.
